Improving patients’ lives is at the heart of what we do at Teva.
Read "A Journey Into Patient Safety"
Teva, like all pharmaceutical manufacturers, has a legal obligation to manage safety information for our full portfolio of products. Our Global Pharmacovigilance (PV) team continuously monitors the safety of all Teva products worldwide. We recognize that the people who share their personal experiences with our medicines with us place a great deal of trust in Teva, and we are fully committed to holding that trust.
At the same time, all of us play a role in the safe use of medicines. Patient safety is a partnership: it connects the people who are taking medicines to the companies who manufacture and market those medicines, to the national authorities responsible for public health.
Fourteen Teva PV colleagues from Croatia collaborated on “A journey into patient safety,” a book that explains how PV works to keep patients safe. The book’s second edition, updated and republished to commemorate Teva PV’s 25th anniversary in 2022, features a detailed yet simple overview of pharmacovigilance and emphasizes the important message that we all play a part in the safe use of medicines.
As Vanesa Ivetić Tkalčević, the book’s editor and Periodic Adverse Drug Experience Report Team Leader says, “Each and every report of a medicine’s side effects helps detect and prevent new risks for other people taking the same medication. Pharmacovigilance connects patients, health care providers, pharmaceutical companies and regulatory agencies. We are all equally important and play a role in our common mission: enhancing patient safety.”
